So this weekend I went to the Gaylord Texan with my family to see the ICE SHOW. My parents kept talking about how cool this was, so we decided to give it a try this year. And by cool, they were not kidding...the room was 9 degrees. What the ICE SHOW involves is two ballrooms cooled down and turned into a winter wonderland. They brought in these Chinese Ice Artists in October, and for
two months they did nothing but shave ice into these amazing sculptures. EVERYTHING is made of ice. AMAZING! They make everyone put on these giant puffy jackets, and it is literally snowing on you the entire walk through the exhibit. (Remember that this is an indoor event.)
They had a huge slide room with Santa's Reindeer flying ahead (the man with his hands in the air on the slide is my dad-it was funny to see a room full of adults sliding down giant slides. Everyone single person coming down had a look of pure joy).

I kept trying to convince Rob to lick the ice, but he reminded me that he had indeed seen A Christmas Story-so he had the smarts not to.
My favorite sculpture of them all was the giant angel and the nativity seen. It was pretty neat. So I think that we will make the trip back next year for another "cool" visit.

Very "cool"! Love the pic of your dad with his hands in the air like he was on a roller coaster. I remember when I was newly pregnant we went to this Fall festival thing and they had this huge slide-I've never wanted to slide down something so bad! Of course, the timing was all wrong!
That looks amazing! How cool, no pun intended! Ha Ha! I have to give you huge props on your posts Allison. Way to keep them coming!
BTW I thought that you and Robert had purchased and brought your own matching jackets. I figured you guys must really like blue!
Is this close enough to Austin that I could tell my friend to go check it out?
Unfortunately Austin is about 3.5 hours away. If they are going to be in the DFW area, they should for sure go!
I don't think that I've ever experienced 9 degrees, indoor or outdoor!!! What a cool event! And I like the big coats :)
And good job on your blog upgrades! I'm glad that Heidi and Sophie are now represented!
