I know, I know-two posts in one day. BUT I had to share this video of E cracking himself up. He figured out that it is more fun to feed the dogs than it is to feed himself. He actually snorted, but I didn't have the camera up and running yet. He cracks me up.

Moses and the Plague
I know that I am a little rusty on my Old Testament, but I do know that the 8th plague of the 10 brought on by God to coerce Pharaoh to let His people go was the locust's. While I am glad that the locusts proved a point for the sake of the Israelites, I really feel for the Egyptians. I can honestly say that I hate locusts! Down here in the south they are a constant droning noise in the back ground. For anyone that is watching the World Cup Soccer Tournament, they are familiar with that wretched horn noise. The constant noise of the horns is somewhat similar to locusts but at a lower decibel. They make a noise similar to a ka-zoo.
Well, I have one living in my living room right now under my couch. It is driving me crazy and more importantly, it is driving my dog Heidi crazy. If there is one thing that I know, it is this crazy bug the size of my palm will loose this battle it has waged with my boxer. She is bigger, smarter, and more stubborn than any other animal I know. Please see the pictures below. (If you can't see her head, it is because she has jammed it under the couch.)
Update: Heidi just won the war! Hooray!

So You Think You Can Dance

I should call this show, So I Wish I Could Dance! Summer TV watching has officially begun in our house. Rob knows that when this reality show starts, I am hooked! I endure his Ultimate Fighter shows, so he endures this dance show for me. He gets a kick out of the ambiguously gay/straight dancers, the ridiculous costumes they make them wear, and how emotional EVERY single dancer is. I also think by the end he is amazed at the athleticism it takes to do some of the stuff they do. I don't see him rushing out to sign up E, but never the less-he is impressed.
This is the only time that I watch a reality show from start to finish. Fortunately they don't spend to much time highlighting the awkward, and they spend most of the time highlighting the truly talented.
I can no longer sit next to him as I watch the people strut their stuff because I end up kicking him on accident. You know how you can't help but open your mouth as you feed your baby-well I can't help but "twitch" as they dance. As a person extends their body as they leap through the air, I too strain my neck and point my toes hoping they land perfectly! I try not to, but it just happens.
The judges always pass through a good mix of trained/untrained, natural talent, and all heart dancers. It always amazes me as the weeks go on how much I start to connect with these people. They can't pretend their way through this show. If they fake it-it is apparent from the beginning. And yes-I pick up the phone and vote for my favorite dancer.
I think that everyone deep down secretly has a talent they wished they had-and my secret is out. So...I wish I could dance!

Dear John
Spoiler Alert! If you have not seen this movie, and you intend too-do not read this.So Rob rented this movie for me today after I convinced him it was worth watching because it was from the author of The Notebook. He knows how much I love that movie and book! Well was I in for a shock...I am totally in a funk after watching the movie!
Let me summarize for you. Girl meets boy and for the first hour of the movie, it is all about the sweetest love story. (The two actors really do have great on screen chemistry!) Boy is a Green Beret in the Army and is sent over seas to serve his country. They write letters to each other and they "date" via numbered letters to each other. They survive the first year apart with flying colors. Who doesn't love a sweet love story of a soldier and his girlfriend waiting an eternity to be with him?
When he goes back to finish up his tour of duty, she suddenly stops writing. After 2 months of nothing-she writes him a letter breaking up with him telling him that she is engaged to someone else! What?!? What do you mean she is engaged to someone else?!? This is not how this is supposed to end!
Sure enough, he burns all of the letters-he gets shot twice in combat-he gets sent home when his dad dies-AND she marries the other guy!!! WTF? She is supposed to be waiting for him after breaking her engagement-right? Wrong.
He goes to finally say goodbye to her on the day of his dads funeral to get closure, and he finds out who she married. He was a friend of theirs, and he is dying of cancer. Sooooo...as we are watching this movie-I was actually rooting for the husband to die! (Awful-I know.) It is so apparent that she made the wrong choice.
They try to patch up the story at the end by her writing him a letter letting him know that her husband did in fact pass away. The final scenes of the movie are of the two of them meeting again and hugging. The final fleeing moments do NOT make up for the fact that the soldier was left broken, the girl knew she made the wrong choice, and the dead husband died knowing that she still loved him. AWFUL-AWFUL-AWFUL!
Nicholas Sparks you let me down!!! Now I am just going to have to read the dumb book to see if it will fix the story for me. I am hoping that the book was lost in the translation somewhere while making the movie.
I feel just like after I watched Legends of the Fall. I keep rooting for the love story that just doesn't happen. Damn you Tristan and Damn you Dear John!
(With all that said, I really did like to two actors in the movie. They had great chemistry, but the dumb love story was doomed between them apparently. BOOOOOOO!)
