I'm So Excited, and I just Can't Hide It...No, No, No! -Pointer Sisters

My sister in law and her husband are expecting their first baby late summer, and I am over the moon with excitement for them. I have to say that being in the mom club makes the anticipation for someone else much more fun. I remember when little E was growing inside of me, and I had no idea what was coming. I had no idea how in love I would be. I had no idea how much happiness he would bring with him. I knew that "of course" I would love him, but I really didn't know. How could I?

I am also excited for my mother in law as well. I remember when I was holding E when he was so small, I looked at my mom with fresh eyes. I looked at her in awe realizing that she loves me the way that I love E. I can't wait for Megan to see her mom in that light and for Ann to know that she knows.

I love knowing that they have no idea what is coming. I can't wait for Baby G to arrive and for Megan to look at her little one and get it.

Frog Prince

Meet my Frog Prince. He has been with us since Las Vegas quietly sitting out in one of my flower beds keeping watch over my beloved flowers. I kind of jokingly remark about how whatever bed he resides in, those flowers always do the best. (It's weird-but there is some truth to that statement.) This year he sits in my bed that holds my rose bushs and paper white bulbs. Spring has officially sprung here in North Texas, and many of my bulbs are starting to showing their lovely faces. :)
Here is my trusty sidekick Heidi doing what she does best-standing guard. She is my little buddy when it comes to yard work. Sophie is content to stay in the AC, while Heidi only wants to be apart of the action. Sometimes she likes to dig up what I have just planted, but she is getting better with age on that issue.

GaGa

If you want to see the look of pure joy on my mom's face...here it is. :)

A few of y'all know my mom Betsy, but none of y'all have seen her in action with her grandkids. There is nothing sweeter in the world in my eyes. I have always been a "daddy's girl," but when E came around the bond between my mom and my son made me so much closer to my mom. It's been pretty cool. The video below is of the best laughing caught on film to date thanks to my mom, dad, and Woody. His laugh is infectious-don't you think?

Buuuu and Woo-Woo

Like many homes across the country our home has been invaded by Toy Story. I don't mind this invasion though. It started with a Buzz and Woody themed birthday party E attended and has moved onto Buzz and Woody dolls here at home. Everett jabbers all day long, most of it you can't understand, but whatever he is saying-he is talking about Buuu and Woo-woo (Buzz and Woody).

We stopped by the Disney Store last weekend thinking we would invest in a pair of Buzz pajama's, but little did we know they make Buzz and Woody dolls age appropriate for toddlers. Everett was on them like white on rice. There was no possible way that we could leave that store without breaking his heart. Fortunately they were having a special on them, so it did not break the bank.

He walked around the rest of the day kissing the dolls, then making them kiss each other, and then making me kiss the dolls, etc. He LOVES Buuu and Woo-woo. He is so much fun at this age!!!

On a sad note, my sister and her husband put down their dog Morgan today whom they have had since they first got married over 10 years ago. Like most family pets, Morgan was a part of their family. Morgy was the dog that protected Jana and the kids the past 10 years while Jason worked the night shifts. She wasn't an over the top, in your face dog. She was the one who would quietly sit in the corner just wanting to be in the same room while keeping a watchful eye on the family dog. I cried with my sister on the phone, and when I got off I couldn't help but give my girls extra love and attention.

The picture below is of Heidi and E finding the hole in the middle of his table meant for an umbrella. E played with it for about 5 minutes figuring out what he could shove down into it. After he lost interest, Heidi stared at it for another 20 convinced that something was going to come out of it. She is such a funny dog! With what my sister is going through tonight, I am thankful that we have our girls and how much laughter they add to our little family.

Smiling Big

I had a proud wife moment this past weekend. Most of you all know that Rob recently finished all of his training for his new career as a Licensed Paramedic/Firefighter. I had no idea what you had to learn to be a Paramedic. He is the man that will charge into anyone's home with the intent of doing whatever is possible to save someone's life. If you think of all the different scenarios that can happen, they really do have to know a lot!

We were at Costco on Saturday getting ready to get in line to pay for our unnecessary items when there was a huge commotion at the front of the line. The man checking out with his wife fell suddenly and started convulsing on the floor. Needless to say, his wife was hysterical as were the people around him trying to figure out what to do to help. Without even thinking twice, Rob runs up and goes to work.

They cleared the area around him, and I watched from afar while he did his thing. Just like a car accident, the scene of course attracted many bystanders-and it made me smile how RELIEVED people were that "that paramedic" was right there. The on-duty paramedics were there in under 10 minutes, and they rushed him off to the hospital to be taken care of.

While it typically is not a good thing that Rob's services are ever needed, I was thankful that I was able to see him do his thing. I think that my heart needed to see it. I really struggled not being frustrated with Rob's job situation the past season of our life, and seeing in action what he was working on really squelched those feelings.

(As far as we know, the man who had the issue should be ok. He came too once the ambulance got there.)

Favorite Oscar Moment

This had to be my favorite speech of the night. I loved Christian Bale's and Colin Firth's speech, but this one made me smile with his enthusiasm and his parting thought.
