Talking to Yourself

This post is going to make me sound certifiably crazy.

I had one of the more embarrassing moments of my life today involving talking to myself while driving alone in my rental car in El Paso. The problem is the whole conversation was recorded on my home answering machine for my husband to listen too when he got home!

It started as I was practicing a presentation I needed to give to a surgeon on my next call. (That is the somewhat socially acceptable part.) But then it just gets embarrassing. I then start to sing, just plain talk to myself, and it ends with me laughing at my own joke!!! That is correct-I talk to myself. Rob called me genuinely baffled at what was recorded. He couldn't figure out what I was doing or what I was trying to accomplish! I could have died at that very moment!!!

Thank GOD it was recorded at home. Could you imagine if it ended up anywhere else? I literally was speechless when he asked me about it. All I could do is quickly change the topic and act equally as confused.

I am about to call him and fess up to what happened. I can't stop laughing at my own bad luck and the humor in the situation.

So here is the question for you...Do you ever talk when you think that no one is listening? By the evidence at home-I sure do!

I am cracking up!!!!!!

Okay, I'm sure that I talk to myself, but I am never alone, so whatever chatter I make can be accepted as me talking to one of the kids.

Your story is so so so funny, and I want to hear about your confession to Rob! :)

I hope that your presentation to the surgeon went well!

I'm cracking up tooo!!!

I think the presentation practice is totally reasonable, but the funniest part is singing and then laughing at your own joke! Oh I would l-o-v-e to hear what you had to say!

I don't really talk to myself. I just thank the Heavenly Lord that thoughts can't be recorded on any answering machine!!

I really hope Rob saved your message, so you can listen to it when you get home :o)
