The 7 Year Itch

This past Sunday was our 7 year anniversary, and I have to say how quickly time passes! We were lucky enough to have the night to ourselves in Lake Tahoe while my in-laws kept E for us. It was freezing cold in Tahoe, literally...it snowed both days we were there. It was a welcomed change from the 90 degree heat we have been experiencing.

As we made the leisurely drive up from Nevada City to South Shore, I tortured Rob with a game of "What has been your favorite marriage moment?" (He was a total sport about answering my questions.) As we walked down memory lane, we revisited living in San Diego our first year of marriage. While we were dirt poor, we both agreed that some of our happiest memories involve our nightly walks on the beach. My favorite beach moment involves Rob trying to save me from the biggest spider either of us had ever seen. He was trying to flick it away on a stick, but he flicked it right to me. I do not have a very big vertical leap, but at that moment-I must have cleared 4 feet.

The next 2 years were spent in Las Vegas, and we couldn't help but laugh at all the interesting people we met there. Everyone thought we were Mormon's because we were so "squeaky clean" compared to the crowds we worked with. For Halloween, we dressed up as Mormon missionary's and the costume actually confused people. They still thought we were LDS, and it took quite a bit of convincing that we were not! We also added our first "baby" Sophie to our family.

The past 4 years in Texas have been nothing but constant change. We bought our home we love, added our second "child" Heidi, and discovered what life is really all about-Everett! After our almost 2 hour drive, I decided that we could not narrow down our marriage into single favorite moments. It just doesn't work that way! I can't choose San Diego over Las Vegas because the experiences are SOOO different from each other.

Either way, they say that 7 years is when you have your "itch" to make a change. I think that they are wrong. I am not "itching" to make one change. We have had plenty of changes in our lives the past 7 years, and the only thing I am beginning to itch for is more!

Oh Buddy!
So sweet!
I'm happy you had a great anniversary! I can't believe how fast 7 years has gone by and all that you have been through and all the changes!

When I read about San Diego, I admit, I sort of forgot that you even lived there...I think the weird Las Vegas stories trumpped anything San Diego :o)

Happy late-anniversary!

p.s. I think the itch you should scratch is one for another baby - Little E is SO SO SO CUTE!! :o)
